After a rainy week, I was so happy to head out East to celebrate my mom’s birthday and for a quick client consult.

On Saturday we headed to Tom Colicchio’s restaurant, Topping Rose House, for a Pork and Beer Festival. With vases of bacon greeting us upon arrival, to say the pork-centric tasting menu left little to be desired is a bit of an understatement! And the line-up of local brewers was impeccable – I was particularly fond of Moustache Brewing Co. out of Riverhead!

We were in celebratory mode all weekend for my mom’s birthday, so the trip was made even more indulgent with visits to a few of our favorite restaurants, including: 1770 House, Nick & Toni’s and Cafe Max – check out a full (and ever-growing) list of my favorites here.

My mom and I took full advantage of being together all weekend, hitting up some of our favorite antique stores (how insane is that spatterware collection?!) and Serena & Lily, of course! Their gallery walls are what my dreams are made of – all of which is available in their online store (kinda dangerous!).
